Filling the tank with petrol these days is an expensive "pleasure"!

I posted an item on this blog on 24 April last about how the great Sun King, Rupert Murdoch, welcomed the Iraq War as something which would lead to the cost of oil coming down to US$20 a barrel.

Today's Financial Review publishes a figure I have never seen anywhere before, namely - the number of barrels of oil exported by Iraq has dropped by some 500,000 per day from what it was before the start of the Iraq War. This fact has been material in driving up the price of oil.

Oh yes! Oil in New York is presently being quoted around US$75 a barrel. Thanks George Bush, Tony Blair and John Howard.......

Not for the first time does MPS wonder what sort of country it is when Israel so flagrently allows what can only be described as barbaric and inhuman behaviour to be undertaken by, amongst others, its IDF. No one has seemingly challenged Israel's actions. However, perhaps it's gone a bridge too far - as The Independent reports. The Foreign Office revealed last night that it would be challenging the Israelis over their treatment of Palestinian children after a report by a delegation of senior British lawyers revealed unconscionable practices, such as hooding and the use of leg irons.
