The IHT reports that PM Tony Blair is confronted with yet another issue regarding his prime-ministership:
".....mistrust of Blair's alliance with President George W. Bush goes far beyond the Muslim minority of 1.6 million. Compared with the United States, said the military historian and columnist, Max Hastings, "in less credulous Britain, one could nowadays fit into an old-fashioned telephone box those who believe anything Bush or Tony Blair says about foreign policy."
The authorities, he wrote in The Guardian, would find it hard to win broad support in Islamic Britain "as long as the British government supports the United States in pursuing policies that many Muslims perceive as directed against their entire culture."
It surely can't be long before Australians wake up and question why PM Howard and the Federal Government's foreign policy is in such lock-step with the Bush Administration. Read the full IHT article here.
