Many people diet. They say it's healthy.... Others couldn't care less or don't have the discipline to stop "feeding their faces". Yet others are health conscious and look to eating low-fat - or in other words, healthy.
After a US$415 million US Federal study involving almost 49,000 women aged 50 to 79 who were followed for 8 years, it would appear that low-fat diets do not reduce the risk of contracting cancer or having a heart attack.
So, where does that leave you and me? Hard to say but reading this article from the NYT on the results of the Federal study, and the response to it by medicos, might help. Good luck!
