Not a week after being imprisoned and at the time making some comments which suggested he might be having second thoughts on the Holocaust, today the Times On Line reports that Irving is back [from his jail cell] onto to his old themes - Hitler did not oversee an attempt to exterminate Europes Jews, the numbers murdered are not as alleged, Anne Frank and her family were well looked after in the concentration camp they were taken to, etc. etc.

Any arguments aside whether Irving ought to have been imprisoned, the man has, it is clear, demonstrated he is not only a nutter but someone who should not be given any "oxygen" by the media in reporting whatever his then current view of the Holocaust is. In the final analysis does it really matter what an insignificant old so-called historian thinks?
