What about what the Iraqis think and want?

All the news surrounding the recently released Iraq Study Group Report has centred on what the US should do, what is good for America, etc. etc. Nary a word about the effect on the poor old Iraqis who have endured almost 4 years of war, mayhem, destruction and death and injuries galore.

We know that 80% of Iraqis want the Americans to leave the country. That's not at all surprising when one reflects on what the invasion has wrought on the country.

truthdig presents the Iraqi perspective on things here. Given that Bush, Blair and Howard all praise the alleged introduction of democracy to Iraq isn't it about time that the Iraqis decide what they want to happen with and in their country?

The NPT (Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty) goes on hold.....because of one non-Treaty member (Israel)

Isn't there something radically wrong here? Israel, a non-signatory to the NPT has, evidently, been the cause for those countries that are Treaty members, notably Canada, the US and the UK, after 4 weeks of negotiation, effectively blocking off any meaningful progress in ensuring the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. Police in Jonesboro, Arkansas stopped him and two friends, found some marijuana, searched put Carter, then put him handcuffed behind his back into their patrol car, where they say he shot himself in the head with a gun they failed to find.
