Greece, and all its myriad of travails, may have moved off the front pages of the news and media coverage, but many other countries in Europe remain blighted with economic challenges and very high unemployment rates. It is no wonder that the general populaces are pushing back, as they did just the other day in Spain. Where all these economic issues will end up is anyone's guess. One thing is for certain. The future for many young people is far from secure.

Look at these startling unemployment stats:

Ireland: Current unemployment rate: 14.7%

Greece: Current unemployment rate: 21%

Spain: Current unemployment rate: 23.6%

Portugal: Current unemployment rate: 15%

Not for the first time does MPS wonder what sort of country it is when Israel so flagrently allows what can only be described as barbaric and inhuman behaviour to be undertaken by, amongst others, its IDF. No one has seemingly challenged Israel's actions. However, perhaps it's gone a bridge too far - as The Independent reports. The Foreign Office revealed last night that it would be challenging the Israelis over their treatment of Palestinian children after a report by a delegation of senior British lawyers revealed unconscionable practices, such as hooding and the use of leg irons. In the first investigation of its kind, a team of nine senior legal figures examined how Palestinians as young as 12 were treated when arrested.
