The War Against Thomas Friedman

Like him or loath him, but Thomas Friedman is widely read both in the NY Times [as also syndicated] and his many books. Whether he really brings anything to the table is much debated. Many loath the man whilst others consider his views to be worthy of note.

Interestingly, newmatilda.com has a piece "The War Against Thomas Friedman" which has as a byline:

"He mixes his metaphors like a cement mixer in a china shop, and he has a strained relationship with the truth, but why exactly do so many bloggers hate Thomas Friedman's guts?"

Not for the first time does MPS wonder what sort of country it is when Israel so flagrently allows what can only be described as barbaric and inhuman behaviour to be undertaken by, amongst others, its IDF. No one has seemingly challenged Israel's actions. However, perhaps it's gone a bridge too far - as The Independent reports. The Foreign Office revealed last night that it would be challenging the Israelis over their treatment of Palestinian children after a report by a delegation of senior British lawyers revealed unconscionable practices, such as hooding and the use of leg irons.
