Speaking at the Ubud Writers Festival currently underway, in a panel discussion entitled "Life Sentences" Palestinian writer, Suad Amiry, related the story of how the title of her latest book "No Sex in the City" - referring to Ramallah where she lives - had to be changed in India to "Menopausal Palestine" [yes, you read that correctly].

On the other hand, Amiry's publisher in Italy could not see how the Italians would be able to cope with the title "Menopausal Palestine".

Go figure!

Not for the first time does MPS wonder what sort of country it is when Israel so flagrently allows what can only be described as barbaric and inhuman behaviour to be undertaken by, amongst others, its IDF.
