The Roy Morgan research organisation has undertaken a survey of Australians over the last 10 years and this week will release the result, as ABC Radio National's Life Matters program reports:
"This week the market researchers Roy Morgan will release a State of the Nation report.
Based on more than half a million interviews conducted over the last 10 years, it's the first time Roy Morgan have compiled their information into a report like this.
It provides a fascinating insight into Australian society and how we've changed over the last decade.
On the one hand we're better educated, wealthier, more debt-ridden, and have more progressive ideas than we did ten years ago.
On the other, it shows baby boomers are locking young people out of the housing market. Young folks it seems don't have the money to save for a house because they're spending their incomes on mobiles, overseas travel and eating out."
