There are always the usual catchwords or political phrases - mostly overworked.
"Staying the course" was effectively done to death by George Bush, Tony Blair and John Howard. Funnily enough we don't hear those words all that often any more.
Reuters reports [as reported on AOL] on the awards for words used in 2006:
"Stay the course," the phrase dropped by the Bush administration as it searched for a new policy in Iraq , was declared the catch phrase of the year on Thursday by language use group Global Language Monitor.
"It makes number one because it was declared inoperative," said Global Language monitor President Paul JJ Payack."

Maybe 43 is insulated from negative reactions by staff (the way the British Royal family is) and nobody tells him 'the course' he is staying, goes straight to Hell "why Saddam ... Hello! who would have thought we would reach the same place in the end"
