Israel pulls out the stops to prevent a Palestinian State

Israel simply won't tolerate the Palestinians having their own State - unless, of course, it's on Israel's terms and within the boundaries the Israelis will dictate. And to insult to injury any Palestinian State would not, according to the Israelis, be permitted any military and have other restrictions on what one might normally be associated with a working and normal State.

The diplomatic push to prevent a UN vote in September for a Palestinian State is on.

"Israel has started mobilizing its embassies for the battle against UN recognition of a Palestinian state in September, ordering its diplomats to convey that this would delegitimize Israel and foil any chance for future peace talks.

Envoys are being asked to lobby the highest possible officials in their countries of service, muster support from local Jewish communities, ply the media with articles arguing against recognition and even ask for a call or quick visit from a top Israeli official if they think it would help."

From Mondoweiss - Israel's supposed "most moral army in the world", the IDF, engaged in immoral, and according to international law, illegal action.... "Israeli forces have demolished every home in the Bedouin village of Khirbet Taha in the northern West Bank district of Nablus during three separate demolitions since the start of the year. Unlike most Bedouin villages, the residents in Khirbet Taha own their own land. However that land falls in Area C, territory in the occupied West Bank under full Israeli control. The village’s only school was also destroyed, leaving children to study in a dilapidated 100-year-old mosque — the only structure left standing in the village.
