No humanity here

Israel is forever proclaiming that it wishes no harm to the people of Gaza. Hamas is their target. Israel also claims that it does not prevent humanitarian aid reaching the Gazans.

This report from NPR gives the lie to yet another lie of the Israelis. Aid isn't getting through and the Israelis are actively obstructing it.

"International aid agencies trying to get supplies and personnel from Israel into the Gaza Strip are increasingly frustrated and angry.

Israel eased its blockade of Gaza on Thursday, opening the border, but only under pressure and only to a few organizations.

Aid organizations say they need to get into Gaza to assess needs and relieve colleagues who are exhausted after the three-week Israeli offensive.

But Mike Baily of Oxfam International says for six days since the cease-fire, the Israeli government has given them the runaround.

"We've had every reason under the sun given to us for not going in … security, not the right day, that is was closed for holiday, that the right people were not available, that we would hear tomorrow," he says".

"Israeli forces have demolished every home in the Bedouin village of Khirbet Taha in the northern West Bank district of Nablus during three separate demolitions since the start of the year. As some countries consider imposing a no-fly zone in relation to Libya, the pertinent question must be what does that mean and entail? FP provides the answers: "It depends on the circumstances. There are two primary types of no-fly zones imposed by air forces. The first is imposed by one military over another, while the two sides are at war. In practice, this type of no-fly zone amounts to a warning from one side that it will engage the other's aircraft if they are spotted in a given territory.
