Yes, we might all snicker about the ineptitude of Mitt Romney and his campaign (just catch up with today's latest debacle!) but let us not forget that Obama's "record" on civil liberty related matters is utterly appalling - and in some respects even worse than that of George Bush.

"Amidst all the relative evil arguments in this increasingly lop-sided election season, a reminder that Obama's record on an alarming array of constitutional and civil liberties matters - warrantless wiretapping, state secrets privilege, whistleblowers' rights, indefinite detention, the defense of drone strikes by changing the definition of "due process" - is abysmal. Feet to the fire."

Not for the first time does MPS wonder what sort of country it is when Israel so flagrently allows what can only be described as barbaric and inhuman behaviour to be undertaken by, amongst others, its IDF. No one has seemingly challenged Israel's actions. However, perhaps it's gone a bridge too far - as The Independent reports.
