The extent to which the world is fishing the stock available in the world's oceans will, in not that many years, see many species fished out.
The ABC's RN Breakfast program highlighted the issue in an interview with Rupert Murray director of the film "The End of the Line":
"Overfishing is one of the major policy challenges facing the globe. In Europe, the key fishing nations Spain and France are in talks this week over how to tackle overfishing, and the future of the sector. According to a new film released in Australia today, the world's edible fish stocks are in rapid decline, and are on track to be exhausted the middle of the century. Based on the book by British journalist Charles Clover, it's called "The End of the Line".
