Just imagine! A mullah or Muslim cleric suggesting that Israel ought to be carpet-bombed. The outrage would echo around the globe.
However, when a leading Rabbi in Israel advocates carpet-bombing Gaza because some Palestinians are lobbing rockets over into Israel, does the Western media, or politicians for that matter, either report on the suggestion let alone condemn it? Absolutely not! What hypocracy and double standards at play - at its worst.
As the Jerusalem Post, on line reports:
"All civilians living in Gaza are collectively guilty for Kassam attacks on Sderot, former Sephardi chief rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu has written in a letter to Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.
Eliyahu ruled that there was absolutely no moral prohibition against the indiscriminate killing of civilians during a potential massive military offensive on Gaza aimed at stopping the rocket launchings."
