Karl Rove: What 5 million deleted emails?

How surprising to learn that good ol' Karl Rove has, yet again, been caught with his hands in the cookie jar - er, no, having somehow "deleted" or lost no less than 5 million emails. How amazing! It looks like the White House and the Republican Party have been behaving in a manner paralleling the days of Tricky Dicky Nixon in the White House. This is an unfolding story with possible interesting scenarios.

As Yahoo News reports:

"Karl Rove's lawyer on Friday dismissed the notion that President Bush's chief political adviser intentionally deleted his own e-mails from a Republican-sponsored server, saying Rove believed the communications were being preserved in accordance with the law.

The issue arose because the White House and Republican National Committee have said they may have lost e-mails from Rove and other administration officials. Democratically chaired congressional committees want those e-mails for their probe of the firings of eight federal prosecutors.

"His understanding starting very, very early in the administration was that those e-mails were being archived," Rove's attorney, Robert Luskin, said."

"Israeli forces have demolished every home in the Bedouin village of Khirbet Taha in the northern West Bank district of Nablus during three separate demolitions since the start of the year. Unlike most Bedouin villages, the residents in Khirbet Taha own their own land. However that land falls in Area C, territory in the occupied West Bank under full Israeli control. The village’s only school was also destroyed, leaving children to study in a dilapidated 100-year-old mosque — the only structure left standing in the village.
