It's the oil, stupid!

It isn't anything new as such - many have been saying for years - but the documents leaked via WikiLeaks confirm that the USA's so-called "War on Terrorism" is really directed to ensuring the on-going supply of oil. Never mind that many of the Middle Eastern countries with which the US trades are corrupt or unreliable allies in many respects.

Isn't there something radically wrong here? Israel, a non-signatory to the NPT has, evidently, been the cause for those countries that are Treaty members, notably Canada, the US and the UK, after 4 weeks of negotiation, effectively blocking off any meaningful progress in ensuring the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.
